§ Mr. GOLDSMITHasked the Attorney-General whether, under the existing law, a member of the board of directors of a limited company does not possess the right to examine the books and correspondence of the company, he is prepared, for the greater protection of shareholders, to promote legislation which would confer such powers on individual directors?
Mr. BUXTONI have been asked by my right hon. Friend the Attorney-General to answer this question. I am not satisfied that the existing law is as stated in the question, but if the hon. Member will refer me to any authority for the statement I shall be glad to consider the matter further.
