HC Deb 02 April 1912 vol 36 cc1154-5W
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the Postmaster-General whether he was aware [...]hat a request for the number of officers at their maximum in the Shrewsbury office had been refused to the representative of the staff who required the particulars for the purpose of compiling evidence to be submitted to the forthcoming committee; whether this statement could be easily supplied from the local records; and whether, in view of his assurance that information which was readily obtainable should be given, he will supply the desired information?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

The hon. Member presumably refers to an application made for information regarding officers in receipt of the maximum wage at Shrewsbury. The particulars requested related to length of service and the period for which they have been at their maximum, and could not be obtained without a scrutiny of past records, and in these circumstances I do not consider that it could be described as readily available.
