asked the Postmaster-General what was the number of words included in the 1,859,000 passing over the Pacific cable for the year ending 31st March, 1911, which were directed to the United Kingdom and to other countries on the east side of the Atlantic Ocean?

I am informed that the total number of words sent over the Pacific cable in messages for countries on the East side of the Atlantic Ocean during the year ended 31st March, 1911, was 617,775, of which 584,368 were destined to the United Kingdom.

asked the Postmaster-General if he could state what number of words passing over the Pacific cable during the eleven months ending 29th February, 1912, were directed to the United Kingdom or other countries on the east side of the Atlantic Ocean; and what number of words for the same eleven months originated from countries on the east side of the Atlantic Ocean?

I am informed that the approximate number of words passing over the Pacific cable and directed to the United Kingdom and other countries on the east side of the Atlantic, Ocean during the eleven months ended 29th February, 1912, was 632,697. In the reverse direction the number was 502,348.
