Mr. DUNDAS WHITEasked the President of the Board of Trade what has been the number of emigrants sailing from Scottish ports annually during each of the eleven years 1901 to 1911, inclusive, distinguishing as far as possible emigrants of Scottish nationality and domicile from emigrants of other nationalities passing through Scotland; and whether he can give any indication as to the number of emigrants of Scottish nationality and domicile sailing from other ports of the United Kingdom during those years?
Mr. BUXTONThe figures given below show the aggregate number of passengers of Scottish nationality who left, and arrived at, ports in Scotland, and other ports in the United Kingdom, and of1152W passengers not of Scottish nationality who left, and arrived at, ports in Scotland in each of the years 1901 to 1911. Traffic between ports in the United Kingdom and ports on the Continent of Europe is not included in these figures. The information hitherto furnished to the Board of Trade does not enable emigrants to be distinguished from other passengers outward, and no statement of the domicile of passengers is available.
