HC Deb 02 April 1912 vol 36 c1140W
Mr. FETHERSTONHAUGH

also asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland), whether in any cases, and, if so, in how many, proceedings have been taken under Section 32 (b) of the Irish Land Act, 1909, for cutting down trees; and has the Department any staff or inspectors to enable it to give some effect to this enactment?

Mr. T. W. RUSSELL

No such proceedings have been instituted by the Department. No officers have been appointed specially for the purposes of the Section mentioned. The Department's forestry staff deal with the matter as far as practicable, with the assistance of the county instructors in agriculture.
