HC Deb 04 May 1911 vol 25 cc725-6W
Mr. CAUTLEY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the manual of instruction for the Army Medical Corps training was out of print; when was the last edition issued, and how long had it been out of print; when was a new edition to be issued; and how long had this branch of the service been without a manual of instruction?

Colonel SEELY

The Manual is out of print, and no copies have been available for sale since last autumn. A few copies are in stock at the War Office for special issue to officers requiring them for examination purposes. The present edition was printed in July, 1908, and 30,000 copies were struck off. The stock has been. exhausted by the large free issues made to, the Territorial Force. The R.A.M.C. are not without a manual, as the present edition is still in force. The new edition will, it is hoped, be ready for Press in a few weeks time.
