HC Deb 19 July 1911 vol 28 cc1251-2W
Mr. LOGAN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the officers of the Board who investigated the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease at Hounslow will make any inquiries with the view of ascertaining if such outbreak is due to the use of contaminated vaccine lymph or other sera; and whether any decision has yet been arrived at in regard to the projected issuing of an order by the Board, bringing all experimental inoculations of animals with the living virus of certain highly dangerous diseases under the effective control of the Board?

Sir E. STRACHEY

The outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease at Hounslow have no connection with the use of vaccine lymph or other sera. The answer to the latter part of the question is in the negative.
