§ Mr. BIRRELLThe number of candidates who passed the King's Scholarship examination in September, 1910, in the first and second divisions who were admitted to the various training colleges is as follows:—Men: 1st Division, 172; 2nd Division, 80. Women: 1st Division, 321;1866W 2nd Division, 24. Some of the colleges have preparatory schools for candidates for training, but as such institutions receive no grants from the State the Commissioners of National Education are unable to supply the numbers as regards them. The number of candidates admitted to the various training colleges from National schools attached to them is as follows:—1st Division, 23; 2nd Division, 3.
