HC Deb 16 February 1911 vol 21 c1429W
Mr. GILL

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, if the contracts for the erection of the new post office at Bolton have been let; when building is expected to commence; and whether any, and, if so, what date has been fixed for its completion?

Mr. DUDLEY WARD

The contract for the erection of the new Post Office at Bolton has not yet been let. The date of doing so depends upon the date of Parliamentary sanction being given for the expenditure to be incurred on the Service. The beginning of building operations can be made about three weeks after a tender is accepted, and the work completed in a period of two years.
