§ Mr. JOYCEasked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the case of John Connors, who enlisted in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, 2nd Regiment, No. 35/333, in the year 1875, and who served in the Egyptian War, and received a medal and clasp for Tel-el-Kebir and Khedive's star, who, when his time was up, re-enlisted in the Limerick City Artillery, in which he served for sixteen years, thus giving twenty-eight years' service; and, as this man is now in delicate health and unable to work, whether something will be done for him in view of his length of service?
§ Mr. HALDANEThis man is not eligible under the regulations for any award from Army funds. Service in the the Army Reserve and the Militia does not reckon towards pension.
§ Mr. JOYCEasked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention had been called to the case of Thomas Mafter, who enlisted in the Limerick County Militia in the year 1874, regimental number 3188, who gave a service of thirty years in that corps, and whose character was very good, and who has two medals; and whether, having regard to the fact that this man is now out of health and unable to work, something will be done for him in view of the length of his service
