§ Mr. REDMOND BARRYThe qualifications are provided under Section 7 of the Petty Sessions Clerk (Ireland) Act, 1858. In the case of a clerk for a single district the justices of that petty sessions appoint, in the case of one serving two or more districts, the justices of these districts do so. A magistrate may be able to vote at822W an election of clerk for a district in which the magistrate does not reside, but in such a case, speaking generally, a certain number of attendances would be required.
