HC Deb 13 February 1911 vol 21 cc848-9W
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Education if he has official Returns, showing the results of the medical inspection of elementary school children in England and Wales for a complete school year; and, if so, what proportion of such children are found by such Returns to be suffering from some physical defect or ailment; and what proportion of the latter are in a condition to render medical treatment advisable?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I must refer the hon. Member to the Report of the Board's Chief Medical Officer for the year 1909, published in December last. He will there find the fullest information available. I would refer the hon. Member especially to Section II. of the Report, and perhaps, more particularly, to page 27 in that Section.
