HC Deb 13 February 1911 vol 21 c829W
Mr. J. P. FARRELL

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that in August or September last an inspector from the Estate Commission Office visited the Douglas estate, at Kilnashee and Clonaugh, to inquire into the allocation of turbary between the tenants on the sale of the property under the Act of 1903; whether the report of the inspector has yet been received; and what action has been taken on the report?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that an assistant inspector was directed to make local inquiries in connection with representations as to allocation of turbary received from certain tenants on the estate referred to, and his report was received in due course. As at present advised, the Commissioners do not consider that they can interfere with the arrangements which were made by the vendor, but the matter will be further considered by them when the estate is being inspected in order of priority.
