HC Deb 04 December 1911 vol 32 c1183W
Lord ROBERT CECIL

asked the Under-Secretary for War how many horses between three and four years of age have been obtained for military purposes during the last year; and whether the German military authorities are buying large numbers of such horses in this country and in Ireland?

Colonel SEELY

During the last eight months 218 horses, between three and four years of age, have been purchased; there has not yet been time to ascertain the numbers purchased during the preceding four months. There is no information to show that the German military authorities have been making large purchases of such horses.
