HC Deb 20 April 1911 vol 24 c1248W
Mr. SNOWDEN

asked whether objection is taken to a Post Officer employé taking part in a municipal election by doing such work as canvassing and bill distributing?

Mr. H. SAMUEL

Post Office servants are not prohibited from taking part in municipal elections. There is, however, a general rule, the necessity for which is obvious, that postmen must not at any time distribute bills of any kind which have not been through the post.
