HC Deb 20 April 1911 vol 24 cc1248-50W
Mr. GLYN-JONES

asked the Attorney-General whether the action commenced by his predecessor in January, 1907, at the relationship of the Corporation of the City of London, against Mr. Robert Horner, the lessee of Spitalfields Market, has yet been set down for trial; and, if so, what is the approximate date when it is expected to come on for hearing; and whether, in the event of the action not yet having been set down for trial, he will inform the House as to the time within which he anticipates this will be done?

Sir RUFUS ISAACS

The action referred to by the hon. Member has not yet been set down for trial. The action is of an exceedingly complicated character, and it has been necessary to examine a large number of books and institute numerous interlocutory proceedings in connection therewith. I am, however, informed by the City Solicitor, who has the conduct of the proceedings on behalf of the relators, that there is every prospect of the case being set down for trial within the course of the next six weeks.
