HC Deb 04 April 1911 vol 23 cc2154-5W
Mr. CAVE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether medals have been granted to some of the officers and men who served in the Niger Cross River Expedition of 1908–9, but no medal or other recognition has been granted to those who served in that very arduous expedition at the request of the Colonial Office; and, if so, when is it intended to remedy the omission?

Colonel SEELY

The hon. and learned Member is apparently alluding to the Yola Cross River Boundary Commission the troops of which were granted the African General Service Medal for certain operations in the Sonkwala Valley. It is not understood to what persons the question refers as no applications have been received other than those for which medals have been granted.
