asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture if he will state the average number of live cattle imported into Great Britain during the last five years for food purposes; and from what countries the majority are imported?

The average number is 389,537 of which 267,911 were consigned from the United States and 121,626 from Canada.
