HC Deb 21 March 1910 vol 15 cc918-9W
Mr. WEDGWOOD

asked the Undersecretary for India whether the new Press Act enables the Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal to confiscate natives' waist cloths-if found seditiously embroidered?

Mr. MONTAGU:

The Secretary of State does not feel called upon to give an opinion on the point of law raised in the question. My hon. Friend will observe that Section 17 of the Press Act enables any person against whom an order of forfeiture is made to appeal to the High Court.
