§ Mr. BIRRELLMy right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The weir wall at Tarmonbarry could not be lowered without serious injury to the navigation, which the Board of Works are bound by law to maintain. There are sluices in the weir, which are opened in flood time so as to diminish the flooding so far as possible. The Board of Works have no information as to injury to lands in county Leitrim.
