Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can state the nature of the scheme for State insurance against unemployment, invalidity, and sickness, which was privately printed for him by the Government printers, and circulated by him amongst the members of the National Conference of Friendly Societies; and whether a copy of such scheme can be supplied to Members of this House?
§ Mr. LLOYD-GEORGEI have been privileged to have meetings of a purely private and informal character with certain representative members of the great friendly societies, at which I laid before them for confidential discussion the outlines of a contributory scheme of State insurance against sickness, invalidity, etc. I cannot make any further statement on the subject at present.
