§ Mr. HENRY WALKERasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the Census (Great Britain) Bill, 1900, received the Royal Assent on 27th March of that year and the Census (Ireland) Bill on 9th April, and that the Minister in charge of the Census (Great Britain) Bill pleaded both on the Second and Third Readings for the expeditious passage of the measure in view of the time required to make proper arrangements for the Census; and whether, assuming that similar considerations apply to the Census Bills of the present year, it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to proceed with them at an early date?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI am aware of the facts stated in the question. The Bills will be proceeded with at the earliest date practicable.
