HC Deb 05 April 1910 vol 16 c393W
Mr. O'DOWD

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that the farm of Leitrim Hill, situate near Tubbercurry, county of Sligo, and forming a portion of the Harlech estate, sold to the tenants some years ago under the Act of 1903, is still in the possession of Mr. Charles Phibbs, J.P., An extensive landlord and grazier; whether this Mr. Phibbs, who owns extensive farms and estates in Sligo and elsewhere, has yet been approached by the Congested Districts Board with the view of the purchase of this farm; and, if so, can he say with what result?

Mr. REDMOND BARRY

As my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary stated in reply to a previous question asked by the hon. Member on 25th March, 1908, the farm in question does not now form part of the Harlech estate, but is the property in fee simple of Mr. Phibbs. The Congested Districts Board have not approached Mr. Phibbs with regard to it.
