HC Deb 05 April 1910 vol 16 cc395-6W
Mr. FRANCIS MEEHAN

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that the county Leitrim is one of the most congested counties within the scheduled area; and whether, having regard to the fact that its claims have been overlooked in the past, he would consider the desirability of appointing a local representative on the Board?

Mr. REDMOND BARRY

The appointed members of the Congested Districts Board hold office for five years under the Irish Land Act, 1909, and there is no reason to anticipate a vacancy. It is therefore premature to raise the question of a new appointment.
