HC Deb 24 September 1909 vol 11 c908W
Mr. CHARLES PRICE

asked the Postmaster-General whether the telegrams of all head offices and some branch and sub-offices in Scotland are to be traced only occasionally, instead of daily as hitherto; and, if so, whether it is proposed to extend this policy, and what effect it is likely to have on the future careers of tracers at Edinburgh and elsewhere?

Mr. S. BUXTON

There is no change of policy involved. All that has been done is to bring the practice in Edinburgh into line with that in force at London and Dublin, and in this way reduce the work during the summer within the compass of the staff. The careers of the Edinburgh tracers are not affected.
