HC Deb 24 September 1909 vol 11 cc905-6W
Mr. MAURICE HEALY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state on what grounds the claim of Mrs. Anne Mylott, of Chapel-lane, Thomastown, county Kilkenny, to an old age pension has been disallowed by the Local Government Board, notwithstanding that the local pension committee, after fully investigating the alleged grounds of disqualification, viz., that the claimant had been in receipt of outdoor relief, found that the allegation to that effect was not well founded?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Local Government Board upheld the appeal of the pension officer in this case, as it appeared that claimant was dependent for her support on her husband, who was in receipt of outdoor relief, and she was held to participate in the relief.
