HC Deb 15 September 1909 vol 10 c2287W
Mr. WILLIAM ABRAHAM

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he will ascertain the cause of the delay in the acquisition by the Estates Commissioners of William Bulman's holding on the estate of Mrs. Sarah Hyde, Ballindangan, county Cork, seeing that the owner has agreed to the price offered by the Commissioners and places no difficulties in the way of its acquirement; and what has been the result, so far, of any communications which the Commissioners have had with the agent or the solicitor to the owner?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have had a preliminary inspection made of the holding in question, and they understand that the owner is willing to sell at their estimated price, but the holding cannot be acquired until formal proceedings for sale are instituted under the Irish Land Act, 1903, and the requirements of the Statute have been complied with.
