HC Deb 05 November 1909 vol 12 c2259W
Mr. KILBRIDE

asked the Chief Secretary whether, in view of the fact that the Estates Commissioners have taken into consideration the claim of Mr. Thomas Robinson, of Mitchelstown, for reinstatement, the Commissioners having received his claim after the date mentioned in the Evicted Tenants Act, the claim of Miss Kathleen Hannon will be similarly treated, and inquiry made into the case; whether the farm at Lughill, Monasterevan, from which her father, John Hannon, was evicted by Mrs. Fraser Johnston is now untenanted, the new tenant, Mrs. H. Waters, having died October, 1907; and whether the Estates Commissioners will use their good offices to bring about a settlement of this case?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have not yet inquired into the application of the Misses Hannon. Having been lodged subsequent to the date mentioned in the Evicted Tenants (Ireland) Act, 1907, it cannot be dealt with under that Act.
