HC Deb 04 November 1909 vol 12 c2145W
Mr. JAMES O'KELLY

asked the Chief Secretary whether he can state the cause of the delay on the part of the Local Government Board in giving the result of a sworn inquiry held by Inspector Saunderson at Roscommon on 15th July last into certain charges against County Surveyor Mulvanny and Assistant-Surveyor Hanly in connection with the working of direct labour in the Strokestown rural district union?

Mr CHERRY

I understand that this was a very troublesome inquiry involving a review of the whole administration of the County Surveyor's Department for a considerable period. The Local Government Board communicated their decision to the county council a few days ago.
