§ Mr. SUMMERBELLasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his attention has been called to the hardship that will ensue in the case of tenants who have entered into a long lease under the previous licensing laws being now confronted with a big rise in the amount of licence to be paid; and, if so, can he state whether some arrangement can be come to in such cases so that the landlord shall bear some part of the increase until the lease expires, on the same principle as in the Compensation Act?
