§ Mr. KETTLEasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he can state the number of examiners for the medical degrees of the University of Madras; how many of them are Indians; and what is the remuneration received by each?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEThe examiners are appointed by the University authorities, and the Secretary of State has no official information as to their number or the remuneration received by them; but it appears from the Calendar of the Madras University for 1908–9 that in that year there were 15 examiners for medical degrees, of whom one was an Indian.
