§ Sir SAMUEL SCOTTasked the Secretary of State for War what are the weapons carried by the German cavalry according to the latest regulations?
§ Mr. HALDANEThe German cavalry is armed with the steel lance, carbine and sabre. The old 98 carbine is being rapidly replaced by a new and longer weapon on the 98 Mauser principle. Experiments have been carried out with a bayonet with the view of substituting this for the sabre, but so far as is known no final decision has been reached on this matter.
