§ Mr. WEIRasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the quantity of land in the United Kingdom, especially in the Highland crofting counties, exclusively used for deer forests and other sporting purposes, the capital value of which does not exceed £50 per acre, so rendering it exempt from the Budget proposals, he will state whether he has considered the expediency of placing a tax on such land used for purposes of pleasure?
