§ Mr. FIELDasked the Secretary to the Treasury when it is proposed to pay the fees to clerks of pension committees and sub-committees in Ireland; whether he can explain the cause of the delay; and whether arrangements will be made for 461W greater promptness in the matter in the future, as the clerks in the majority of cases are poor men who cannot afford to wait six months for their money?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEIn the majority of cases these fees have been paid. With regard to the causes of the delay which has occurred and to the future arrangements I would refer the hon. Member to my answer to a similar question put by the hon. Member for Kilkenny City on Monday, the 1st inst.
