HC Deb 02 March 1909 vol 1 c1393W
Mr. HICKS BEACH

asked the Prime Minister whether he will take the necessary steps to ensure the issue to the public at once of that part of the evidence especially relating to the administration of the Poor Laws upon which the members of the Royal Commission on the Poor Laws, etc., have based the recommendations contained in their recent Report?

Mr. ASQUITH

The Report of the Royal Commission is not based upon any particular section of the evidence, but on the evidence as a whole. That evidence will, it is estimated, occupy over 30 volumes. The first volume will, I am informed, be published very shortly, and succeeding volumes will be published at short intervals as rapidly as it is possible to prepare them.
