§ Mr. DUFFYasked the Secretary to the Treasury if he could explain the delay in having payments made to clerks of pension committees in the county Galway, no payments having as yet been made for the quarter ended 31st March last, nothwithstanding the fact that application had been made to the Treasury on 30th April; and will he take such steps as may be necessary to ensure prompt payments to these officials in future?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEThe delay in payment in this case has arisen through the fact that the number of claims and questions charged for in the account did not agree with the number reported by the pension officer. The account will be paid as soon as this discrepancy has been cleared up.
