§ Mr. CLAUDE HAYasked the President of the Board of Trade if he can state the number, status, and emoluments of the staff to be appointed, or already appointed, under Item T 3 of the Board of Trade Supplementary Vote for £5,000 in respect of the Trade Boards Bill?
Mr. TENNANTNone of the staff referred to have yet been appointed, and I am not yet in a position to give a detailed statement of the number and salaries of the officers who will be required, as this must largely depend on the views taken by the Trade Boards, which are not yet constituted. I may say, however, that the sum of £5,000 is intended to defray the 1441W expenses of the Trade Boards and District Trade Committees for five or six months, including the remuneration of appointed members, secretaries and district officers, provision for clerical assistance, accommodation, travelling, and other allowances and incidental expenses.
