The Marquess of HAMILTONasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if, as the Mediterranean Fleet is now in home waters, the Lords of the Admiralty will grant the privilege of short leave, compatible with the exigencies of the service, to the officers and men of that fleet, so as to enable them to visit their relatives and friends?
§ Mr. McKENNAFive days' leave by watches has been granted to the ships of the Mediterranean Fleet before returning to their station. Leave to the officers of ships in home waters is dealt with by the Commanders-in-Chief at the ports, who will no doubt grant leave as liberally as the exigencies of the service will admit.
