§ Colonel SEELYA considerable amount of information on expenditure on railways in Crown Colonies and Protectorates is given in the House of Commons Returns, Nos. 331 and 336 of 1907. The Return in the form suggested would necessitate reference to all the Governments concerned, and heavy work in abstracting in each Colony or Protectorate the figures for the "engineering works," in accordance with such definition of that term as might be selected for the purposes of the Return.
