HC Deb 04 August 1909 vol 8 cc1955-6W
Mr. FLYNN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in reference to the bonding of spirits in Ireland, whether the Excise authorities take steps to differentiate between whisky placed in bond and British or foreign spirits; and if not, can they make arrangements to do so, in view of the fact that Ireland is a whisky-producing country, and with a view to verifying the accuracy of the figures in the Revenue Returns as published in the Parliamentary Papers?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The Excise authorities are not able to differentiate between whisky and other British spirits placed in bond.
