§ Mr. FIELDasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that on 29th March, 1909, the Assistant-Director of Ordnance Stores in Ireland summoned to his private office a woman, who is a civil subordinate, to obtain information regarding the personnel and working of the Army Ordnance Department; if it is usual for administrative officers to adopt this course, thus ignoring chief ordnance officers and ordnance officers who are responsible for the efficient working and administration of their respective areas; and if he will have inquiry made as to the information obtained from the woman concerned and as to the necessity for such information?
