To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will raise with his EU counterparts the possible establishment of a European Radio Asia to broadcast to North Korea, China, Tibet and Burma. [161496]

I have no plans at present to raise with EU partners the establishment of a European Radio Asia.

Radio broadcasters in the UK and other EU Member States already transmit programmes into Asia, notably the BBC World Service.
