To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of the situation in Cote d'Ivoire. [177097]

The situation in Cote d'lvoire is worrying. The Linas-Marcoussis Peace Agreement (LMA) is in jeopardy following the sacking of three opposition Ministers by President Gbagbo, and the opposition's continued boycott of the Government.

The UK fully supports the LMA and has called on all parties in Cote d'lvoire to ensure its implementation. The UK is working with the Security Council, UN, EU and Economic Community of West African States to keep the LMA alive and to bring renewed stability to Cote d'lvoire.
