§ Mr. HoyleTo ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if she will list applications for wind farm developments in Lancashire, broken down by(a) location and (b) output in kw per hour. [149967]
§ Mr. TimmsProposals to construct and operate generating stations with a capacity greater than 50 megawatts (MW) require the Secretary of State's consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989.
She is currently considering one application for her consent to construct a 65 MW wind farm at Scout Moor. The applicant estimates that the on site wind analysis 95W indicates a likely capacity factor of 35 per cent. which would indicate that the proposed wind farm would generate some 197,000,000 kWh per annum.
Central Government do not hold records of proposals for on shore wind farms at or below 50MW as they fall to he determined by the local planning authority under the normal planning regime.
