To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when the Government will announce the start date for the solar PV major demonstration programme phase two. [139491]

Mr. Timms

The £20 million First Phase of the Major Photovoltaic Demonstration Programme is due to end in March 2005. It is intended that decisions on further funding for PV will be made in the first half of 2004.
