To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans she has to increase the audit exemption levels for small and medium-size companies; and if she will make a statement. [140216]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry announced on 19 November that the audit exemption threshold would be increased to £5.6 million turnover.

This will help relieve some administrative burdens on up to 69,000 companies.
