To ask the Deputy Prime Minister how many days were lost due to sickness absence in the Department in 2002. [90532]

§ Mr. Leslie
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister was established following machinery of Government changes in May 2002. The most recent 'Analysis of Sickness Absence in the Civil Service' published by the Cabinet Office and announced by Ministerial Statement on 19 December 2002 covered the calendar year 2001. Figures for 2002 will be announced in due course.
