To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has evaluated the effect on the competitiveness of British businesses of increases in (a) employer liability insurance premiums and (b) other insurance premiums; and if he will make a statement. [39962]

The Government do not intervene in the setting of insurance premiums. These are currently increasing worldwide, not just in the UK.
