To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what assessment he has made of the extent of the use of the euro in Northern Ireland, especially in border areas. [65589]

The Government have not made any assessment of euro-based transactions in the UK.
It is entirely a commercial decision for UK business to determine whether or not they wish to accept the euro or any other foreign currency.
