§ Mr. Wicks[holding answer 11 January 2001]: On 17 October, I announced plans for consultation on ways of creating a smaller and stronger NTO network. In the light of the consultation exercise that will run from 15 January to 12 April 2001, it is no longer appropriate to continue with the planned re-recognition of NTOs against the original criteria.
Those NTOs who have prepared re-recognition applications have been offered the opportunity to present their evidence to the independent NTO Advisory Group and receive an informal feedback on areas for development.
